Is there a spiritual realm?

Yes. I'm reading Billy Graham's book, "Angels: Ringing Assurance that we are Not Alone". The idea that there is a spiritual battle going on just beyond the realm of our natural senses makes perfect sense to me. I believe mankind was originally designed by God for complete access to that realm, but lost that sense in the Fall. Like someone losing their eyesight, they can no longer see it, but the visual world is still very much there. For some, I'm sure, this sounds absolutely insane. I know, however, that if we are open to the idea of spiritual regeneration through Christ, that we can actually see, hear, feel glimpses of the spiritual realm, although dimly. I think children can be especially sensitive to the spiritual realm. When my daughter was about 3 yrs. old, we were riding in the car one day. It had been a quiet ride for some time, I was lost in thought... when out of the blue, she said, sounding surprised, "Mommy... who said Alleluiah?" The only reason I can think of, to explain why she might have heard that word at that time (an unusual word for a 3 yr. old), was that she had heard her guardian angel audibly speak.

I also think that, in the interest of doing whatever it takes to lead people away from God's plan for restoring a relationship with Him through Christ, our enemy, Satan, masquerades in all sorts of ways, to fool us. I believe ghosts and "apparitions" for example, are just demon's acting like lost loved ones, that knowledgable fortune telling, etc, is possible because demons know the details of our lives, too, and they use that knowledge to make people believe in "mediums, astrology, etc." rather than Jesus. I believe these sorts of pursuits fill our hearts with false hope and distract us from pursuing and understanding the real hope that is available in Christ. (2 Cor. 11:14- ...Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light".) This type of distraction and false hope can, sadly, make one's entire life a lie.
